Sleep Sprays are a relatively new development in the world of sleep products. They consist of a relaxing blend of flower extracts or essential oils and scents, mixed together to soothe you to sleep. These are sprayed on your bed linen, body or tongue and the scents or tastes are designed to help you relax, combat anxiety and relieve tension. This spray is perhaps one of the most popular on the market at the moment and for good reason. The company behind the spray, this works, conducted a two-week study<\/a> on its effectiveness. The study found that the spray helped to reduce anxiety in 85% of the participants, helped 83% fall asleep faster and 78% achieve a deeper sleep. It\u2019s made out of 100% pure essential oils and the key ingredients are lavender and chamomile (discussed in last week\u2019s post) and patchouli and vertivert.\u00a0 Patchouli is believed to lift your mood, reducing tension and anxiety, which can aid insomnia, while vertivert is often referred to as the oil of tranquillity. However, you can still use it on your bed linen for a comforting fragrance throughout the night. The key ingredient in this is wild chamomile oil, sourced from traditional family farms in the UK. Other ingredients include jujube date extract, which is known to soothe anxiety and insomnia, and a blend of citrus scents. Due to this, the scent has surprisingly relaxing citrus notes that linger throughout the night.
